REGIONAL
TOURS
If you can't get enough of the Mediterranean lifestyle
and want to experience the slower pace of life around 'The Med' first hand,
consider a two week tour of Morocco!

Unlock
the magic of Morocco through the Imperial Cities of Fez, Marrakech and Rabat.
Enjoy watching snake charmers and fortune tellers while sipping mint tea, listen
to the Prayer Call descending from the Minarets, discover the art of Moroccan
handicrafts and marvel at the ancient Arab architecture dating back to 800 A.D.
Shop until you drop in the twisting turning pathways of ancient medinas, visit
historic palaces, view majestic gardens, and walk through the ruins of a Roman
city which flourished in the 1st and 2nd centuries. Not all of Morocco is
about history- there are also water parks, modern shopping malls, ice skating,
casinos, beaches, and nightclubs for more Western-style entertainment.
Music festivals are held almost year round in Morocco- the largest and perhaps
most popular being held in the coastal town of Essaouria, also known worldwide
for it's wind surfing. History, shopping, relaxing, or dancing- there is
something for everyone!
Leave the cities and turn toward nature as you travel over the Atlas
Mountains into the Sahara Desert. View the awesome stratigraphy of the Draa
Valley and enjoy unparalleled photographic opportunities in the Todra Gorges.
The contrast between green meadows and desert landscape through the snowcapped
mountains is both striking and unforgettable. Nibble on dates in palm tree
lined oases, explore the UNESCO-classified cultural heritage site of Ait
Benhaddou. Take a camel trek in the sand dunes of the Sahara or if fossils
are your interest, ask about our specialized paleo-excursions.
Perhaps you have seen the Paris-Dakkar rally on TV and fancy trying it out
yourself? Flying across sand dunes and wide open desert lands bound only by the
mountains range and your imagination? Off road travel in Morocco is an adventure
based on taking roads and tracks that most vehicles and unguided tourists can't
access. This presents many opportunities to closely observe the authentic way of
living from the Berber tribes of the Atlas Mountains to the Nomads of the
Sahara. Off road traveling also allows outdoor camping, photography of
spectacular scenery and natural wildlife, and enjoying the beauty of the night
stars.
Working with groups of 3 to 8 people
allows flexibility and spontaneity in scheduling and activities, often including
the opportunity to visit native people in their homes and local communities. We
can customize any tour to suit your specific interests, including off road
travel, cultural, historical and shopping opportunities.
Couscous is committed to bringing you an authentic, quality travel experience.
It is our goal to meet your needs and go beyond your expectations to provide you
with an unforgettable trip to Morocco!
Packing Suggestions:
The Moroccan climate can be as varied as its cultural
history. One could find snow, rain, wind or Sahara heat, depending upon the
locality. The following is a general list and should be used only as a guide or
starting point. Typically, Moroccans keep covered by American standards, but not
nearly as much as more fundamentalist countries. You will be better received if
you try to respect this. Long skirts and pants or jeans work better than shorts
or miniskirts. However, in the larger cities feel free to wear what you are most
comfortable in. For social nightlife in large cities, both woman and men tend to
dress very modern and stylish. Whatever you choose, don't come without:
Lightweight pants or slacks

Jeans
T-shirts
Socks
Good pair of tennis shoes
Hat
Sunglasses
Sunscreen
Towel
Personal toiletries
Light jacket
